    POSITION OVERVIEW

     

    Consumer Direct Colorado is seeking a people-oriented Training Coordinator to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment. In this important role you will assist individuals with understanding the Colorado consumer directed programs- CDASS & IHSS. You will help people with disabilities and their support systems understand how to successfully manage their own services to remain living happy and healthy in their home and community. Successful candidates will emphasize their ability to support individuals with disabilities and the elderly, and promote prompt, respectful and professional service. Some state-wide travel will be required. In addition to training, this leadership position will interact with and participate in stakeholder meetings. Small group presentations and public speaking is required.

    WHAT YOU WILL DO

     

    • Conduct state-wide Case Manager Trainings within the established requirements in a variety of formats including face to face presentations and webinar
    • Develop training content and presentations with use of Microsoft Office PowerPoint
    • Perform required trainings with Medicaid service recipients who wish to self-direct their care in a variety of formats including group, individual, and telephonic in a client-focused manner
    • Utilize community resources to facilitate events and solidify meeting spaces for trainings
    • Network and market the consumer directed options through outreach and event attendance that grow the services and Consumer Direct brand
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding all communication/information related to clients, attendants, department contacts, and all business relations
    • Demonstrate an understanding of Medicaid wavier services in Colorado including the Home and Community Based Services program
    • Demonstrate an understanding of CDASS & IHSS including the range and scope of services, options, choices, rights, risks and responsibilities associated with self-direction
    • Maintain timely documentation for all activities, conversations or assistance provided
    • Attend educational meetings, work groups, community events, training sessions and other meetings as needed or required by the program
    • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings as advised by Program Manager
    • Exhibit effective and professional verbal and written communication
    • Ensure a positive, collaborative and cohesive team environment

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Communication, Education, Health Care, or related field
    • 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities and/or the elderly
    • Strong navigation skills with technology including- Microsoft Office programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel.
    • Experience and practice with public speaking and presenting to groups
    • A valid driver's license, clean driving record and minimum required auto insurance is necessary
    • Must be able to successfully pass a background screening
    • Previous knowledge or work experience with Long Term Care Medicaid, and Home and Community Based Service preferred
